NorthernEdge® Jamalaya Oat Rice Recipe with Chicken, Oat Rice, Vegetables

Cooking Instructions:

This is the perfect solution for left over Oat Rice! If you do not have any handy, just add 3 cups of water (stock) and 1 cup of Oat Rice into a stock pot. Turn the element on high and bring down to medium once it starts to boil. Total cook duration must not exceed 15 minutes. Strain the Oat Rice and give it a quick rinse with warm water. If you enjoy a softer Oat Rice texture, just boil it for approximately 5 minutes longer.

While the Oat Rice is cooking, sauté your pork belly in the vegetable oil until golden. Add in the onion, garlic, and ginger. Once the onion is translucent, add the carrots. Continue stirring for 5 more minutes then add your Oat Rice, corn, and Chilis. Stir for an additional 5 minutes.

In a small bowl, whisk up the egg and stir it into the pot. As soon as the egg has set, season with soya sauce, salt, and pepper. Feel free to add a sprinkle of toasted NorthernEdge Organic Whole Golden Flaxseed when serving.

But for how long? – Sticky Rice

If you prefer a more-sticky texture, the total cook time of the oat rice should not exceed 20 minutes (starting once you turned on the element), and the rice does not need to be rinsed.

5

But for how long? – Loose Kernels

If you would like to have a more traditional texture to your oat rice, the total cook time of the oat rice should not exceed 15 minutes (starting once you turned on the element), and the oat rice can be rinsed with warm water.
